Christmas Decorating Ideas for your Kitchen

The kitchen to many homes does not only serve as a cooking space but also a place where social activity like informal meals, coffee with friends and loved ones, or sharing of dishes you enjoy with others happen.

Ornamenting the kitchen is perhaps the most difficult part of the house to decorate because maybe our ideas have all been drained in the living and the dining rooms where most of the formal gatherings are held and where guests usually are welcomed. Another probable reason is that the kitchen should always be kept safe at all time since it is where the hazardous objects are found. Nevertheless, not a part of the house should be left dull and untouched of the art of Christmas!

Having to reuse the decors you had from the previous Christmas season does not matter as long as your decors are in one piece and in good decorating condition. Doorways to the kitchen can be adorned by garlands attached with other Christmas ornaments like colorful Christmas balls, candy canes, Santa stockings, painted pine cones, etc. You can also tie your door knobs (those entry to kitchen with doors) with ribbons either colored with red, gold, green, or blue.

You can hang with scalloped- edge or pin tinsels on cupboards or cabinets. The depth of hanging designs depends now on your preference. However, be advised that hanging designs can somehow become distorted with frequently opening and closing cupboard doors.

Santa Claus is one of the most awaited figures in Christmas and no one enjoys more cookies, besides children and children at hearts, than the legendary person himself. Having a santa cookie canister/jar in your kitchen uplifts the spirit of the holiday season. This perfectly goes well with santa serving plate and santa glasses for desserts like brownies or cupcakes for guests and children, which further adds an inviting holiday mood to your kitchen.

Finally, embellishing your island table is the crowning glory of your kitchen since it is where your guests get to spend more time with while you are busy preparing for your gathering. You can either place the santa canister/jar and serving plates on your island table placed on a green or red mat sprinkled with fake snow or silver dust or adorn the things that are already on your table. For example with your fruit trays, tie its trunk with red or gold ribbon; or sprinkle again with silver dust or snow-like paper-cut coated with silver dust around its base or on the tray; or play with silver and gold ornaments with evergreen and flowers; or a mysterious thing wrapped with tinsel placed on a tray to raise everyone's curiosity.
